Maybe you opted for the budget-friendly option of buying peppers in bulk at the local farmer’s market or during a sale and now you need to preserve them. Freezing peppers not only helps reduce food waste but is also a simple process that doesn’t demand any special equipment. Additionally, there’s no discernible contrast between fresh and frozen peppers in cooked meals.
Start with Bell Peppers or Chili Peppers
Before freezing your peppers, check them for any imperfections. Peppers with soft spots or mushy areas can be trimmed and used right away in a cooked meal, but they may not freeze well. Start by cutting your peppers into strips.
You do not need to blanch peppers before freezing them. The main reason for blanching is to preserve color, which is not necessary for peppers when they are frozen.
